Surroundings

The area provides plenty of opportunities: the park borders on the north side to the endless stretches of the Ermelose moorlands where you can make beautiful hikes (even with the shepherd and his flock!) and to the west, the oldest forest in the Netherlands, the Speulder woods. Here you can find wild boar and deer in your path if you’re lucky, mostly early in the morning or late in the afternoon.
In the immediate vicinity there are many possibilities for trips with the children, for instance the Apenheul, the Dolfinarium in Harderwijk, Walibi Flevo and Juliana Toren or a day at the Veluwe beach Veluwe, like Strand Horst.
Within cycling distance is the village of Ermelo which has quite a large shopping center, supermarkets, several cafes, restaurants and terraces, an absolute must!

Culinary delights

Culinary delights
There are quite a few dining options in the vicinity and in various price ranges, from culinary delights  to even delicious pancakes, for instance: "Boshuis Drie" at Drie (great food and atmoshpere and nearby), "De Schout of Ermel" and "'t Jager Nest Pancakes & Eeterij", just to name a few. All of these restaurants are located in the vicinity of Ermelo, but of course you can find lots more dining options on the Veluwe.
